My real name is Rashaad Powell, kids call me Papa Shaad...I am a father of 4 and husband to one...The four's names are Rashaad Jr. 9, Rylee, 7, Shonti, 6, and Isaiah, 4. My wife of 9 yrs. Lisa, and as you will see with out her none of this could be possible...I am a youth leader at Rez Life church in Newaygo, Michigan. And I work full time at Gerber Products...So work full time, church full time, music full time, and family full time, and loving every minute I am blessed to do it. I have been totally solded out for christ for about 5 years now, and am a proud brother of a soldier over in Iraq, Sgt. Duriel Powell, and dually proud of my big brother holdin it down here stateside Alfred Jr. My parents are Al and Melissa and in May they will be celebrating their 32nd wedding anniversary. Wow, God bless...back...well here it is in a nutshell... About 10 years ago, you would have never guessed I would be here doing this... See I was a street thug cliché. I was clubbing every night and partying everyday. I was a big dawg on a small porch and was so confused I didn't even know if I was coming or going. Drugs, violence, gang affiliation, and pure and unadulterated hatred of myself, lead me down a path of destruction...Then it happened... my now wife, got pregnant. Now this boy who didn't want to grow up had a decision to make, fight or flight. My Dad (Al Powell) always taught us if we ever made our bed, then we better lie in it...In other words, be a man and handle my responsibility. So, I did. To the shock of all my friends, I stopped partying and hanging out all night and married Lisa, bought an apartment and got 3 JOBS. Man, I was so tired, but I still wanted that old life style so as a symbol of my commitment to my wife, I took that last of my drug money and bought her a ring, one that she still sports today...and started my path to where I am today... See musically, I have been involved in the industry about 10-12 years. Started out secular and enjoyed moderate success as a marketer and performer, but the music and I just never felt right...It was like I was doing someone else's music, even though I wrote it. It never felt complete. Then one day, my mom's (Melissa Powell) prayer got thru and I came to the lord and totally dedicated myself to him and serving him. So partying, smoking, drinking, and music everything had to go it was going to be just me and my god, that is it. I don't need no one or thing else so I quit music...That is when God spoke to me and corrected me, asking me, "...am I not worth anything to you?" I can still remember it like yesterday. I said, "HuH?!" He said, "How much do you love me?" I said "With everything that I have." He said, "No, you don't." And I went on to argue with God about my talent and abilities he has blessed me with, and how am using those talents to serve him...and I used those talents to serve the enemy...and how radical I was in the enemy's camp...and why I am not that radical for him...And from that moment on it hit me and continues to hit me, if I was that crazy for the world how much more does my God deserve? So from that I came up with the most outrageous and crazy plan of attack and that is W.A.H.Lin Music, Standing for We Ain't HipHop Listen...Meaning I no longer rep Hip Hop, but I rep the cross to the fullest. And I have lost my mind or W.A.H.Led out in Christ. Our mission is clear....leave no club unturned, no corner un pushed, let everyone who has an ear let em hear, our jesus is lord and he is coming back for a victorious and blameless church...we bout to bang out with the enemy like we have never done before and claim the lost and show em the cross, cus our christ is king, halllllelua!!!!amen and amen. be blessed so many details I left out but I think that somes it up in a nut shell, I can give you the full version at a later date...
